Amorgos Island

Amorgos is the easternmost island of the Cyclades. It is a mountainous, arid island, with a rugged morphology. Its terrain makes it a popular destination for hikers and trail runners.

The signposted footpaths are also cultural routes, as they pass by religious and archaeological monuments throughout the island.

The beaches of Amorgos are generally small, but famous for their wild beauty and deep, crystal-clear waters. There is a diving centre in the Aegiali area.

The island’s best-known sight is the Monastery of Panagia Chozoviotissa, located near Amorgos’s capital, Chora. Visitors to the Monastery are awestruck, both by its location and unique architecture, and by its great history.

Chora, the capital of Amorgos, is located high in the centre of the island. It is a unique traditional settlement, a must-see for every visitor to the island.

The island's main archaeological sights include the Archaeological Collection in Chora and the Hellenistic tower of Agia Triada in Arkesini. Book your ferry tickets and Travel to Amorgos!
